Jamie bought this 30 complete with a cert for the 4age.  He's now rolling on 13x7 spitfires with 215-50-13  EAGERS.  Behind the 4age is an ae86 T50 5speed and shortened drive shaft joined up to a Corona diff.  On the exhaust side runs some 4-into-1 extractors leading onto a full 2.5" exhaust.   Cam covers and intake plenum are now highly polished and parts colour matched.   The 4age is fuelled by a fuel only Link programmable ecu and spark provided by Link high energy ignition.  The engine internals are a bit of a mystery but 'apparently' had higher compression with cams and porting etc.  This engine ended up cracking a ring land and so a std fwd 4age bigport was swapped in.  It ran like a stuffy nose with the ecu still tuned for the last engine and it also knocked and lost compression in a hurry, that engine was a gonner before it went in... so third time lucky we've sourced a high km nz new ae82 fxgt 4age bluetop bigport engine with complete loom and ecu and hope to get some use from it.  We modified the water piping under the intake manifold to mount the ae82's remote thermostat, rather than swapping all the rwd water pump setup onto it.  So apart from the extractors and rwd intake manifold, it's all fwd gear.    A spigot bearing was also fitted and the fwd clutch and flywheel still retained.  Interestingly we found this 4age to have been ported on the intake side too.  In the interests of reliability and smooth running we've removed the old Link ecu and started fresh with a new ke36 loom from the firewall forwards and added in the std ae82 loom and ecu.   A few mods were made including delooming where easily done.   All the unwanted ke30 ignition wiring is now gone and the 4age dizzy and coil wiring now runs thru the left gaurd rather than tucked behind the cam pulleys.  Jamie spent alot of time rubbing the shell back and smoothing out the bumps.  In the process integrating some mesh into the valance and a few other touches including flares ready for a coating of 2pak orange.  Whilst working on the body a rather large mistake with the registration has seen it deregistered.  (stupid laws).   Re-vinning an old car is a nightmare as any body mods, chassis repairs and crash damage has to be completly checked out and so is more costly than it's worth... so jamie has found a reasonably tidy ke30 with wof and regn to swap the driveline over and re-certify it with the extra mods to the chassis added in.  The paint job will be done again with a few improvements like not being done in a hay barn (aye jamie!).
